The free Switch-Check

Your pet's dates, run through every carrier's rules.

Finding the rules is the easy part — they're published as static tables in a few places. The hard part is the arithmetic: your dog's last ear treatment, your cat's knee from 2023, the renewal letter on your counter — against sixteen carriers' different clocks. This checker does the arithmetic. And it will tell you plainly when a carrier's form hasn't been read yet (unverified — never a guess dressed as an answer) and when staying put beats switching.

The Switch-Check — your pet's dates, the carriers' rules

Enter your pet's conditions with the last date each one showed symptoms or was treated. The checker runs those dates through the rules as published in each carrier's policy form and answers per carrier: excluded forever, re-opens on a computed date, or no pathway at all — plus your earliest safe switch date and the stay-or-switch math on your renewal. No login, nothing uploaded; it runs on this page, in your browser.

We never ask for your pet's medical records, your policy number, or your carrier login — not here, not anywhere. Anyone who asks for those while offering to "help" with a switch is not helping.

How to read the verdicts: "Re-opens on a date" means the carrier's form stops treating the condition as pre-existing on that date, counted the way that carrier counts — symptom-free days for some, continuous-coverage days for others. "Excluded for the life of the policy" and "no cure pathway" mean the form contains no rule that ever re-covers the condition. Where a removal is discretionary (the carrier "may" remove it), the result says so in bold — a discretionary date is a date to ask for written confirmation, not a promise.

Where the answers come from

Every verdict is computed from the dataset on the carrier rules page: cure windows, knee rules, carve-outs, and waiting periods read from binding policy forms (form documents as of July 1, 2026) and cross-checked against carrier materials on Oct 20, 2026, with per-carrier variance printed — including the fact that the one incurable-condition pathway in the market is absent from its carrier's Florida form.
